“Just to let you know that replacing the power packs on both ends seems to have fixed the issue! I haven’t seen a single disconnection so far and the EPS circuit is now running using the full 2M so it’s looking good so far.
Just wanted to thank you for your assistance on this and for the excellent service we received from your company.”
“BT have ‘rectified’ the issue this morning, It was a joint in a manhole that was under water. Now dried out and re-terminated.
A BERT Test (on the SIM2000) only went clear at 384k, I moved it to the ESIM5700 and repeating the BERT test resulting in an error free 1096k.
Shirley (The end user) is now over the moon. Your assistance yesterday was much appreciated.”
“Thanks for the report. Very comprehensive and came in really useful. We logged the call with BT on Thursday and stated there was a high resistance joint fault 200m from the school. The next morning I had a voicemail stating that a BT engineer was visiting the site first thing to check out the fault. Later that morning, the circuit came up at 2MB and BT reported that there was a fault in their cabinet and it was now resolved. Incidentally, the same fault was closed 2 days earlier without resolution with BT saying there was no fault. So, giving them that extra info made a big difference. The circuit has been up at 2MB since and has not dropped once.
Thanks for your help on these.“
“Thanks for the analysis, we reported the fault to BT and they have fixed the fault today. We have the circuit up at a stable 2.3MB at the moment.
They said that 1 wire of the circuit was totally disconnected at the street cab at the B end. They were impressed with our testing equipment and the fact that we managed to get any service out of the circuit with just 1 wire connected!
Thanks for your help again, see you next Tuesday.”
